Larry H & Gail miller family foundation
Formed in 1995, Larry H. Miller Charities (LHM Charities) is a nonprofit organization that functions as the charitable arm of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies. Assistance from the foundation is directed toward groups and programs based in the communities where Miller companies conduct business. Attention purposely focuses on issues that affect women and children, with an emphasis on health and education. Funding for Larry H. Miller Charities enables the organization to continue making an impact in the community. Generous contributions come from the general public and businesses, however the majority of the funds are generated through Larry H. Miller companies and employee contributions, including the Give Us 5 program. Employees voluntarily donate $5 per month from their paycheck to go to Larry H. Miller Charities. These contributions remain in the state where they were donated to benefit the local community.
George s. and dolores dore eccles foundation
The George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation is dedicated to serving the people of the State of Utah by carrying forth the philanthropic interests and goals of its founders. The Foundation supports projects and programs that have the potential to make a significant difference in bettering Utah’s communities and enriching the quality of life of its citizens.
The George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation remains the most visible reflection of the legacy of Mr. and Mrs. Eccles and First Security Corporation. Led by George S. Eccles for more than four decades, First Security was the nation’s oldest and largest operating multi-state bank holding company at the time of its historic merger with Wells Fargo in 2000. First Security corporate headquarters were located on the corner of 100 South and Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City – the capital city’s historic “banking corner,” where a bank has stood since the days of Brigham Young.
